I’m back in one of my favorite cities and I really can’t complain. I’m in New York celebrating my mother’s birthday and I’ve got to say my weekend off is going great. As a fashion enthusiast, there’s no better city for my kind. Even walking down the street becomes a fashion ordeal, and street style is always on point here. As inspired as I’ve been to dress the part, I’ve still been in a really laid back mood. Can you blame me? I’m on vacation. Ultimately, I think I bridged the gap between getaway casual flare and fashion quite well. Believe it or not, all it took was a good old pair of espadrilles and a nautical twist.

There’s something about espadrilles that just brings any outfit together and, when paired with a loose blouse, they’re magical. This red and blue one brought just the right amount of flare with the bare back and pinstripes that matched the stitching on the espadrilles. After all, outfits just look so effortless and cool when paired with this type of shoe. In addition, distressed jeans added to the casual vibe, and you know how much I love my statement shades. Finally, a stack of bracelets, a nice ring, and a cross body finished off the look.
